Everyone is talking about peptides these days, but at Allure, we’ve been waxing poetic about the ingredient—used topically—for decades.
Quick overview: Peptides, best known for boosting collagen production, are tiny chains of amino acids that act as messengers between skin cells, instructing them to hydrate and target skin elasticity. They don’t completely erase signs of aging, but they certainly help postpone the process.
In this serum, there are more than a handful (!) of potent peptides (hexapeptide 8, copper palmitoyl heptapeptide-14, palmitoyl tripeptide-38, to name a few), along with plumping hyaluronic acid and moisture-locking glycerin, that work together to smooth out fine lines and wrinkles, as well as firm skin’s texture to give it a tighter, more lifted look.
And although it sounds like something out of a dermatologist’s office, it’s actually quite gentle and super easy to add to your routine. After cleansing, I’ll smooth a few pumps onto my face and neck, making sure to work it into areas that need some extra peptide TLC (my forehead, especially). The lightweight, silky texture dries down fast, layers well under moisturizer (and sunscreen if applying in the morning), and doesn’t pill—the ultimate skin-care trifecta!
