There are so many different ways to do updos, I don’t blame you if you can’t look at a hairstyle and immediately identify if it’s some form of a French twist, a chignon, or something else entirely. And the look Rita Ora just wore to the Red Sea International Film Festival in Saudi Arabia may very well fall into one of those categories. But I propose we create a whole new updo category for what we’re seeing here: the soft-service ice cream.
Ora attended the event on Thursday, December 5, looking absolutely stunning in a black lace and satin gown by Tima Abid, styled by Pippa Atkinson. Her makeup, by Majha, went in a much lighter direction with glossy nude-pink lips, an abundance of light pink blush, and sparkling champagne eye shadow topped off with lush, tapering lashes.
Even softer than her makeup, though, was her updo, styled by Kaleel Joy. Her sandy blonde hair was piled, twisted, and sculpted to go in various directions, creating the loveliest asymmetrical swirling effect not unlike—you guessed it—soft-serve ice cream. Her bangs were deeply side-parted and swooped up in one direction, while some of her ends were left to fall loose in another direction.
