NYFW has officially begun, which means we’re keeping a very close eye on the runways to see what designers are feeling for the next few seasons, but we’re also laser focused on the celeb-studded front row for beauty inspo. And one of our favorite, can’t-miss-her Fashion Week celebs is Julia Fox, who never fails to bring an element of surprise to the sidewalks of NYC.
For the Marc Jacobs show, which is always an NYFW standout, Fox channeled an enchanted doll come to life with a head full of thick, glossy, bouncy curls and lavender-gray makeup to mimic the color of her sheer catsuit and satin bra top. Her dark hair was pulled partially up and pinned and the crown. Each section was oh-so-precisely curled in defined ringlets, similar to those you got from sleeping in foam rollers as a kid. But instead of brushing out the curls, Fox left them as-is, giving her look a sweet, fanciful twist.

Of course, we can’t talk about Julia Fox without mentioning her makeup! The actor is a true chameleon who has so much fun changing up her glam details from day to day and event to event. She is truly up for anything, and we love her for it. For this Fashion Week stop, Fox chose bold, ’80s-inspired eye shadow brushed all the way up to the arch of her bleached-out brows. The lavender-gray shadow extended far past the outer corner of her eye, almost to her temple, anchored by bold strokes of black eyeliner and minimal mascara. A pale pink blush was applied to her cheekbones, with a similar soft pink shade on her lips.
The doll-like hair and makeup was well-suited to a Marc Jacobs show, as the designer has embraced surrealist doll aesthetics in many of his collections—including literal doll eyes for his fall 2024 show. Fox, too, has experimented with a similar vibe; I’m always thinking of her carnival funhouse-inspired manicure and polka-dot outfit combo from last fall. Beauty should be fun, and no one has more fun than Julia Fox!
