Megan Thee Stallion has no hesitation about changing up her hair. The rap superstar regularly switches up her hair color—it’s been purple, red, pink, orange, dark brown, and more in just the last year—and she plays with texture all the time. But more often than not, her stylist’s canvas is long hair. So when she pops up in our Instagram feed with a jawline-grazing bob, it’s even more head-turning than her usual hair transformations.
Meg posted a reel that starts off with the rapper posing in an adorable, black and white polka dot halter dress while brushing her deeply side-parted bob out of her eye and tucking the other side behind her ear. Next, we see her go-to hairstylist, Kellon Deryck, zhuzhing the voluminous, swoopy look and giving it a good spray to keep it in place before she ventures out for a beach date with birthday boy(friend) Klay Thompson.
The new short, curvaceous style has all the telltale signs of being an Italian bob. “The Italian bob is full of soft waves and loose, bouncy texture,” stylist Nick Arrojo previously told Allure. “Think Sophia Loren glamour, modernized.”
The bob clearly hasn’t gone unnoticed by fans, who had lots to say in the comments. “That BOB!!!!!!!!!! Bobbiana the Stallion,” one commenter wrote. “UR BOB IS FYE!” said another. “I need you to fully lean into your short hair era,” read yet another comment that, as of publishing this, has more than 4,000 likes.
