So you think you’ve seen every imaginable interpretation of a French manicure, eh? In addition to your typical white tip on both short and long nails, there are colorful tips, cat-eye tips, the reverse French, ombré—you name it. Perhaps you’re even a fan of the deep French, where the tips take up half the length of the nail. And while Addison Rae has previously shown us she loves a good micro French manicure, it looks like the pendulum has swung and now she’s sporting the deepest French ever.
Rae performed at Coachella on Saturday, April 11, wearing a colorful patent leather ensemble that we imagine must have been really squeaky as she danced her heart out for the desert-dwelling crowd. And while manicures may not be the first thing fans look for—or can even see clearly—from the audience, she made sure that anyone who spotted her nails would be impressed by her unique take on French tips, which take up nearly her entire nail except for a negative-space half-moon.

Nail artist Kim Truong says they wanted something that felt fresh and effortless but still had a strong point of view. To do that, she used Olive & June Gel Base Coat, Gel Color in HD, and Gel Top Coat.
“Using the Olive & June liner brush dipped in HD, I mapped out the half-moon shape near the cuticle, then filled in the rest of the nail with the same shade for that crisp, opaque white,” Truong says. To perfect the curve, she dipped a brush in polish remover to create a sharper shape. “I repeated the process for a second coat to build opacity and keep the lines precise, then finished with the Gel Top Coat for a high-gloss finish.”
