Chasing Kites Release Heartfelt Sweller ‘Falling’ – Backseat Mafia
Bristol’s rising indie-rock outfit, Chasing Kites, return with their poignant and introspective new single, ‘Falling’. Produced by the renowned Sam Winfield (Bring Me The Horizon, Amber Run), the track showcases a tender, emotive side to the band, marking a departure from the electrifying energy of their earlier releases. Falling opens with shimmering, reverb-drenched guitars and a warm, grounding bassline, creating a delicate, melancholic atmosphere. This mood is amplified by lead vocalist Matt Donnelly’s heartfelt and intimate delivery. As the track unfolds, gentle percussion emerges, supporting the understated yet irresistibly melodic chorus. The song crescendos into an evocative climax, with the middle eight offering a reflective pause before a breathtakingly atmospheric…

It precedes the release of the band’s album ‘Computer Future’ due out in November. ‘Falling’ is a jaunty high stepping track filled with a hyperactive bounce. It reminds me to a degree of bands like Franz Ferdinand or Pulp with it’s sardonic humour-tinged delivery and vibrancy, all with an antipodean flavour. Despite the jaunty demeanour, the song is about darker themes. Songwriter/vocalist…
