After ten years of facing monsters, the actor has finally finished her run as the <em>Stranger Things<\/em> hero. \u201cI know I\u2019ll never play her again,\u201d she says wistfully. But she isn\u2019t really saying goodbye to the character: \u201c[Eleven] has influenced me in huge ways. She is a force to be reckoned with, who gave me a lot of confidence to be a hero within my own life.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>That self-assurance motivated Brown to launch Florence by Mills in 2019. \u201cNaturally, [that role] gives you the confidence to be like, \u2018Yeah, I might not know everything about skin care and beauty, but I\u2019m going to build a company at 15.\u2019\u201d Since the start of the Netflix show, Brown, now 21, has also starred in the <em>Enola Holmes<\/em> and <em>Godzilla<\/em> films. She got married (to Jake Bongiovi) last year and recently adopted a baby girl. She isn\u2019t even Millie Bobby Brown anymore, if you want to get technical. Legally, she\u2019s Millie Bonnie Bongiovi.<\/p>\n<p>Despite the internet\u2019s resistance to the idea, she\u2019s grown up and firmly in her \u201cmost authentic era,\u201d which she attributes to motherhood. \u201cBeing a mother expedited this version of me,\u201d she says. \u201cNothing could get in the way of me being who I need to be for my daughter.\u201d<\/p>\n<aside aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"PullQuoteEmbedWrapper-sc-TKIUW kKNLCl\" data-testid=\"pullquote-embed-center\">\n<div class=\"PullQuoteEmbedContent-sc-lixSTo cQciWx\">\n<p>\u201cNothing could get in the way of me being who I need to be for my daughter.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/aside>\n<p>With the addition to her family, self-care has become even more important in her routine. \u201cI want her to see me take care of myself,\u201d she says, but she doesn\u2019t mean indulgences like lengthy facial massages. \u201cYou have to do everything ten times quicker, and you don\u2019t really get to do your gua sha in the morning.\u201d Instead, self-care takes the form of more frequent check-ins with herself and her loved ones.<\/p>\n<p>She journals regularly and she\u2019s careful not to be self-deprecating, conscious of the example she sets for her daughter. \u201cI have to talk to myself kindly,\u201d she says, explaining that it can be easy to \u201ctalk badly about yourself and your body\u201d if you\u2019re not being mindful. \u201cAfter becoming a parent, I couldn&#8217;t imagine talking about myself like that anymore, because she&#8217;s going to watch me do that.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Brown also says it can be a reflex to shrink yourself for others, admitting she\u2019s done so before. \u201cWomen naturally kind of become smaller so that men feel bigger,\u201d she says, before adding that she can\u2019t see herself doing this anymore for the same reason\u2014her daughter.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Millie Bobby Brown isn\u2019t Eleven anymore.
